What's going on with PF?

Hi all-
The page has a new format, and I am best by ads, even though I have a paid membership to avoid them. What's going on?

My browser is firefox and the ads used to be on the bottom of the page but now appear as a column on the right hand side - not really a problem other than the decreased width of the page. What's not cool is now posts are listed with just a thumbnail of the poster's avatar and no image of a new product in the Figure News section. Many of the threads are ambiguous as to what is being announced so this really is several steps backwards in the layout.

Have to wonder was this change a request from those random advertisers because they wanted their ads to stand out??

Yeah, have to agree. This new layout is not the greatest. I think it has more to do with being more mobile friendly than anything else. And a tip for everyone to check their preferences to avoid getting tons of emails, unless of course you like tons of emails.

On a related note, what the heck is the difference between a push and an alert?

Yep. Just posted a new product and only able to load one image.
Was the previous version broken? If not why fix it.

@MattMcK. The issue has now been resolved, and ads should no longer appear on your account.

@JackG The News section now shows a thumbnail from the first post. The update was necessary because the old XenForo version was outdated and unsupported.

In XenForo, push notifications and alerts serve different purposes for notifying users:

1. Alerts:
   • These are notifications visible when a user is browsing the forum.
   • They appear in the alert dropdown or alert list on the site.
   • Users need to be on the site to see them; no external notification is sent.
2. Push Notifications:
   • These are sent to a user’s device (mobile or desktop) even when they’re not actively browsing the forum.
   • Requires the user to enable push notifications and grant permission through their browser.
   • They provide real-time updates directly on the user’s device.

Key Difference: Alerts are internal and site-specific, while push notifications extend to external devices and provide off-site updates.
