Hi everyone

Painting continues on the headwear , found these pics of a original period Officers cap ,not the 85th but interesting details on the cockade and the piping on the headband

I’ve finished the cockade and painted the edging a dark blue , will do the top piece , then the peak ...might add a shine effect or just use a satin/ gloss varnish , once done will post a quick pic before moving to the aguilette

Thanks for looking in

Happy benchtime

Progressing nicely, bet you can't wait to make a start on those medals.
As for life getting getting in the way of painting... tell me about it. :(

Knowing you. some of the detailed putty work will be on medals. here are some pics showing how the medals are wore. Note the cross belt is actually worn over the medals, which I find strange I would have thought the would be over. Oh Hum.M.

Hi Mick .....

Regrettably just no room to put medals on ........forgive me .......it will be the 60th Regt .......the belt badge is looking good ...just the crown to add and the lions face at top of the chains

Will post pics once it’s all completed prior to primer in a separate VBench

Glad to see you back in the saddle. Nice progress, putty nicely pushed and good progress on the painting.

Glad you are back in the land if the living, medal ribbons look really good. I'd almost forgotten you started this one.

Cheers Simon
