From time to time while looking at an old realization, I do not appreciate any more the rendering of its painting and I tell myself that maybe it is time to improve it all. Lately the bust of William Wallace that I made in September 2019 has therefore been ironed under the brush.
For this work, I did not stripped the bust, but I used the previous work as an underlay and therefore reworked it. Obviously, the bust being assembled and glued, the danger was to be "embarrassed" for the re-painting and the risk of doing less well always present.
And then I took the plunge and here is the result.

The modifications mainly concerned a better general contrast and particularly of the skin. The eyes have been completely redone, the color changed and the diameter slightly reduced. The designs of the shirts have also been completely repainted. The breastplate, the hair, the sword have been darkened by glazes of blue, brown and black + red. The "cape" has been soiled with very liquid earth juice (almost colored water) passed in 7 or 8 passes.As a reminder I post here two comparative photos, before / after.
