Hello Gents
Can anyone tell me if any of these jackets below
were worn in 1943 among tankers?
Also any images showing the back side of them???

Taesung - I'm no expert on the Soviet Army of WW2. But from a historical point of view it is entirely possible. The Soviets in 1943 were still rebuilding after the decimation wrought in 1941, so using older uniforms would have been quite natural. The only things which might not be applicable are the blue trousers but you never know having seen some of the Soviet Cossack uniforms. Always remember that soldier tend to wear what is most comfortable. I remeber living in Germany at the time of Gulf War one, my father was serving with the BAOR's 7th Signal Regiment, and seeing men goinf out to Saudi in a variety of different uniforms. They had literally wiped out all of the local army surplus stores. Soldiers tend to like what is comfortable and usually regulation uniform is far from that. So just remeber that unless you can find some evidence to prove otherwise in modern warfare most thing can and will happen, especially when it comes to a soldiers comfort.

Hello Taesung,

Russian AFV crewmen made use (apparently limited) of two-piece canvas protective garments; your photos would seem to show just the jacket, in two different models. This is entirely possible, and surely matching trousers were not always available. Russian industry suffered a great disruption with the German invasion, and supplies were not as regular as they should. Although it would seem these garments are more typical of pre-war and early war times, it is perfectly conceivable they were used while they lasted. These could be seen in other colours like slate grey or black.

This said, the first photo shows a type of collar patches which is characteristic of early war, and would not be usually seen by 1943. I would advise dispensing of these patches and leaving the collar points plain, like in the other photo.

I don't have rear view photos, but I would guess the first jacket would have the same "sahariana" style in the back as seen at the front.

By the way, the first figure wears the semi-breeches common to all branches; and the other, presumably, a protective overall, which came in several colours, blue in this case.

HTH,

Dani

Thank you, Gents!
I will go with one of the jackets above...
not sure which one yet.

Maybe you already know it, but I think the following is a very beautiful picture

A leather version of the jacket you post (the first picture). Also note the differences about the helmet, the belt and gloves.
It comes from the Soviet WWII section of tridentmilitary.com, a good source.
