I recently had a cabinet move-round and cull, and decided that it was time to see if I could improve a few of my older pieces. Most were put complete into a bath of Cif Power Shine, but here I just decided to just re-paint the head. I'm afraid that I forgot to take 'before' pictures of this one, which I first painted about three years ago, so here are the 'afters';

I think it's a bit better than it was, but it's quite hard to be objective. A good exercise though.

Fantastic painting....your face painting is a class of its own...love it,once again Bravo.

Hi Peter

Another really nice result , you have a real knack with fleshtones

The wood effect are good as are the vibrant reds

Thanks for sharing

Look forward to the next

Happy benchtime

Pete, Nap, Pier and Carl - Very many thanks. I struggle to paint anything and to have you say that you like the flesh in particular is a real boost to the confidence. This face was pretty challenging, what with all the wrinkles around the eyes and the various warts (a lovely touch by the sculptor).

Very, very nice all round. Also good wood grain on the gun stock. I always struggle with that. Any tips?

Hi Peter lovely result and just as others have said you certainly know how to paint a face, the colours blend so smoothly and really bring each subject to life, very tidy painting on the clothing and equipment, so enjoyable to see your stuff on PF.
