Vallejo red leather base, washed with burnt umber oil then progressively lighter oranges drybrushed.

Seeing that he has a clay pipe, I saw an idea in a book by Shep Paigne. Put a small dob of glue in the pipe's bowl, touch a cotton bud to it, and when it's set tease it out. It leaves a realistic whisp of smoke that livens things up no end. Just an idea, if you like it use it.
