Keith ... Cheers! I'm undecided about the goggles reflection. Being plate glass the reflection will be un distorted, might be a bit much visually. Still I could always paint it out again
Hi Mark. Figure is progressing very nicely,unbelievable realism. I really like this one. I did try the moutainous reflection using xara coral. All I did was to leave the dark grey background and add thin almost imperceptible subtle snowy peaks, using only two colours blue/grey for the light side and purple for the shadow. I was surprised how good it was for such a simple few brush strokes. Looking forward to the completion of this figure. Cheers Keith
Very well done Mark, I like all I see so far. I have taken a look moving away a little from my pc and the realism is amazing. Only the closer view reveals, that this is a painting work.
I would recommend that you lighten up the rope to make it pop. Period climbing rope was made of hemp and is very light in color. Here are a few examples from my collection:
