Leather belt is based with a couple of coats of Black + Sky Grey + English Uniform. This same base will be used on pouches, back pack and straps and boots, with slight variations in the mix ie more or less English Uniform.

PS- I think I have a decent handle on my new camera... What do you think?

CJ

Thanx Zane
Thanx for the mental visual... I was thinking a troupe of pissed off clowns bursting out of a Mini Cooper, looking for the guy that stuffed them in there :woot:

For what it's worth, next to a couple of specificic Nappy uniforms, this is rapidly becoming one of my favorite uniforms.

Hi Colin
that looks even better now the sash is dome and the leather work is coming along, it's a definite blasted of colour. picked up the Drummer I think your going to like it mate. taking him to the modelling club today to show him off will be with the caster Tuesday . the photos are better too you seem to be getting the hang of it.

Zane will be seeing how fair away we are with the Officer I have a meeting with chris so fingers crossed we will be very close to a release date.

Cheers

Ian

Thanx a bunch Ian. The sash definitely tied the two halves together.
I'm really looking forward to seeing the drummer too. You can't see it, but I'm rubbing my hands together in anticipation :hungry: ;)

Not sure what I did, but I feel like I cracked the code to this new camera:happy:

Cheers

Very good work, Colin! Love what you did. I like this figure a lot. Very dynamic posture and the details are awesome.
The photos are looking very good. I like them. The only suggestion that I have is to crop them.
For sure you will experiment more with photography and from here on you will do better and better photos. Very good job on this.(y)
Cheers mate!
Zeno

Thanx Zeno. I did crop them once. Pics are taken from about 15" away. They could probably take one more crop to "zoom" in on certain areas.
I started the equipment so I'll post more pics tonight.

Colin

At this stage I'm calling the black leather equipment done... bar some extra shadows once everything is assembled. Once highlighting was done, some Orange Brown was added around the edges and wear points. then everything was washed with several layers of heavily watered black. Orange Brown was again lightly drybrushed at the edges and wear points.

Some of this is lost in the pics because the leather has a slight sheen, as leather will.

That leaves the haversack and strap, the blanket roll, rifle and hands and the water jug with tin cup.

To that end, can anyone help with the colour/material of the water jug. The pics I have found are less that specific.

Cheers

Hi Colin
I have seen paintings of the water bottle with a light blue cover but metal is the most prominent that I've seen on most paintings. I put metal on the paint guide but the blue is an option, it's coming along well keep it up mate

Ian

Thanks Zane, that was perfect. I even got through the description with my high school french.
Ian, I read metal on the guide but pics I had gave a lot of different options... of course, then I got confused, had a good cry, but I'm all better now ;-)
Thanks Sag, I am feeling much more comfortable with the new camera, they aren't perfect by any means but I think they are looking OK.

Cheers

Colin
