Here's the start of a fairly long term project. These were originally Scheibert figs. now available from the tin figure museum at Katzelsdorf, Austria. http://www.zinnfigurenwelt-katzelsdorf.at/
They are a mixture of Grenadiers and Voltiguers of the Guard.
Page from the catalogue,
Franz. Garde zu Fuss.PNG

First figure, an Officer of Voltiguers undercoated with acrylics and after the oil treatment. There's still some work to be done but he's almost there.

Second figure, a Grenadier Officer undercoated with acrylics.

Very nice Roger. This will be a great little group.

I was hoping for another fat figure though. I know, throwing snowballs at airplanes.

Following with interest

I fully intend to buy a fat bloke from Ellie's Miniatures on Saturday as it happens Colin, I've whittled it down to a choice of two, just need to make my mind up which one it's gonna be.

Another good looking set of figures, I have been casting my eye around for some flats, not sure what period to go for.

Cheers Bob.
Here's some recommendations, all online shops and good reliable people to deal with.

Roger,
that's a real help to me too !
I've been thinking of some more flats for a while but I've never known where to browse

Looking great already
Paul

Cheers Paul.

They are all people I have personally dealt with and never had a problem. Here's another I forgot, http://www.carl-zinnfiguren.de/

Quality stuff mate just been transfixed by the Kechner catalogue alone for the last 1/2 hour. TVM !
The prices are fantastic, (no rude jokes this time).
I've already seen a few I like, including a couple of stand-alones.
Smashing links.
I may have to pick your brains a bit on Saturday for a while.
I've got a specimen landsknecht standard bearer I'm struggling with a bit !
Paul

Ellie has some really nice figs... which ones are you caught between?

The French Line Infantry NCO (with the wall) and the Imperial Guard Chasseur a Pied trumpeter. I was leaning towards the trumpeter then I foolishly asked my wife and she said the other one. If I painted round figs on a regular basis I'd buy them both but as it's just a special treat every now and again I won't.

Roger
Thanks for the heads up on the tin flats, I have now got these winging their way from Germany via zinnfiguren-rieger.de French infantry in Egypt 1800
