Sash mostly done. Boots too. Need to swing back to get his breeches, inner white boot cuffs, gloves etc.

Boots were sponge painted and ink washed.

Hi Colin

Well done on the sash , looks really nicely detailed along with all the oak leaves embroidery , all looks very so good

Boots look great and it seems a uncomplicated way to produce the effect

Thanks for the update ..hope your planning the next project

Have fun @ the bench

The boots look really good, black without actually being painted black, very effective.

Cheers Simon

Thanks Simon. Boots were based Green Grey with some Naples Yellow mixed in. Then washed with sepia ink. Once dry I sponged them with varying mixes of the base with more and more Naples Yellow added for highlights. Then sepia ink again. The sepia ink I was using veers toward black rather than green or brown.

Thanks Nap.

I need to get back to my Borodino flat vignette. I have a couple of things in the mail. I just ordered Perry’s new 28mm Duellists vignette and I’m looking forward to that (see below). I have a whole fleet of Alexandros’ Napoleonic busts to paint. Anf then there’s the rest of the grey army.

He is really taking shape and coming together. Really like the effect you've used on his boots, makes them look well worn and used
Melanie

Thanks Melanie. I hate painting subtle transitions so a sponge is a god send.

Added his crop. Just need to do his gloves, waist coat, add his sword and do the dreaded groundwork. And general clean up of course.

Hi Colin

Love the result , that goldwork really does make this special to view , interesting you used a green grey base on boots , certainly works with the inks

Looking forward to seeing the final updates on this

Those Perry’s do look good and will be fun to paint , there’s a great thread with lots of wargamers artwork in it ...so feel free to add anything https://www.planetfigure.com/threads/little-wars-fine-artwork-from-wargamers.680039/

Happy benchtime

Looking good, though I would suggest a little adjustment to the sword knot to take gravity into account. You probably already had that in mind though.

Cheers Simon

Hi Colin

Good update on this fellow , looking good with the sword in place

As Bob said ref the braid ......particularly that sash ...really shows the Napoleonic period well

Looking forward to seeing more

Have fun @ the bench

One final thing I should have added earlier. So much thought went into producing this figure. For example, Riccardo included three (yes 3) cast spurs on the sprue because: (1) it cost him nothing extra to do it and (2) he knew there was a high probability that many modellers would lose at least one somewhere in the process of removing them and gluing them on (a perfect prediction in my case).

I love this level of foresight and consideration from a maker.
