Hi Colin

Nice to see this progressing well , the sponging works well , do you use inks and paint in shadows as well ?

Will the inks dry Matt or with a satin look ? ......do you use a Matting agent if needed ?

Thanks for sharing

Looking forward to seeing more

The ink was flowed across the whole jacket….highlights and shadows. Sponging generally just the highlights. I will dullcoat him when done (Tamiya rattle can).

Here is where I am today.

Hi Colin

Thanks for the answers , might have to look at the inks after seeing your results , the colour is ideal for the period

Lacework is looking good so far ,as is the flesh , the headwear looks imposing

Thanks for the pictures

Have fun at the bench

Look forward to seeing the next post

Thanks for the comments on the oak leaf embroidery.I will dull it down a bit with sepia and raw sienna inks and then repaint the ultra high highlights to indicate reflection. Redoing his bicorne and still more face work to do.

Our local figure show (Sword & Brush) just got cancelled for this year less than two months before the scheduled date and that’s a massive disappointment to me and other friends here in Southern Ontario. No real rationale provided except a cryptic note re. priorities from the organizer. I hope we haven’t seen the last of it but I’m not confident it will reappear in 2025. I expect the loss of the only figure show within my reach will impact my motivation somewhat. I’ll need to battle against that effect.

Proceeding very slowly on this 75mm treasure. I almost passed on this when I saw the raw sculpt on FB. It looked good but not great and I had a budget issue. So glad I threw caution out the window and bought him as this is probably the best Napoleonic general figure I have ever encountered. Just a tour de force sculpt.

Currently sctruggling with his general of division sash. I will look better after some inks and highlights are applied in Naples Yellow and Unbleached Titanium.
