Hi Don - Thanks mate, I am certainly very chilled out and enjoying working with the brushes again.

Hi Roger - You got the first viewing on Friday mate.

Hi Keith - Cheers mate, I really like this figure as far as other figures go, I see potential in quite a few figures for conversion. I will only choose a figure for converting generally if I'm inspired by it or I have been reading about particular events or characters were I can make the figure fit.

Hi Colin - Mate, yes finally some colour. I must keep the oils away from the acrylics though it's no good dipping your brush in turpentine when you are painting with acrylics.

At last some progress, I have decided to attach the arms after doing some painting and blocking in, as I now feel I can work around them. The face has been started with oils, I will tackle this when things have dried a little bit more and the rest I am pushing on with the acrylics. I have mainly been working on the tunic, still loads to do so back to the bench.
cheers
Richie

Hi Steve,
Thanks mate, it's a nice figure to convert loads of other possibilities for other periods. It's becoming hard work at the minute is low 20's outside and I'm sat in the conservatory painting with the door open, the acrylics are drying in the blink of an eye.:hungover:
cheers
Richie

Hi Richie, this is coming along really well, I enjoyed seeing your conversion collection, including this guy at the last club meeting, for our fellow planeteers the pics do not do enough justice to Richie's intricate work on some of the finer details of his conversions, he is the man.
See you soon mate.
Dennis

That is looking very good mate, both conversion wise and painting, one of your best IMHO but not your overall best, that is still to come and by the looks of your progress it will be worth waiting for.
looking forward to seeing the finished version.
All the best
Steve

First class Richie.
Great work all round and cannot wait to see the finished item. I guess, as Dennis says, it is even more impressive in the flesh.....so to speak.
I am in the UK at the moment if you want to bring him south for a day out :playful: .
Keep up the good work , you are getting better and better every time.
Cheers,
Keith

Hi Dennis - Thanks mate, I sometimes think my photography lets my work down, anyway your cheque's in the post:happy:

Hi Steve - Thanks for the continued support mate, without you none of this would have been possible, you need a start and my start is with your superb Martini Henry's.

Hi Keith - Thanks mate for your valuable support, you can always nip up North.

Hi Kevin - Thanks for the thumbs up mate, I have enjoyed this one.

Hi Nap - Thanks for the support and your help on the other project.
cheers
Richie

Hi All,
I have had a productive time and I think I am going to call this one finished, other than a name plate to order. I had to sculpt on a lower tunic button I missed and the Glengarry ribbons made from a post it note. There are a few things I have omitted and I am undecided whether to try and add them, such as a rifle sling, water bottle and sphinx collar badges. I did matt this down and wish I had not as I've lost some of the finer washes on the tunic - lesson learnt. I decided to stain the accoutraments from the initial white and put quite a bit of weathering on him and I hope it's worked out OK.
Thanks again for everyone who has taken the time to look in and to all who have left posts.
cheers
Richie

Hi Colin,
Thanks for the continued support brother, I have enjoyed this project albeit testing at times. I do have a couple of other pieces of battlefield stone to work into some future projects, they may have had real warriors feet over them!
cheers
Richie

Nice work on the weathering Richie, really sets him in his environment now, looks like both your sculpting and painting are improving in bounds now.

All the best
Steve

Hi Steve,
Thanks mate, I will take that as a massive compliment from someone of your talent. I'm getting a lot of time in lately, I've made the most of my week off but it's back to the grind Monday:grumpy:
cheers
Richie

I'd only add the collar dogs if anything Richie, as it stands it has the look of a man in a desperate hurry and the missing equipment tends to empathise that IMO. Excellent job all around
