Completed Critique Youngs 1/9th scale USMC Fallujah bust

Really nice work, the face really shows exhaustion! The redness of the eyes looks great! Quick question - how did you engineer the hook into the sling attachment point on the rear stock of the gun? Those zap straps are a really great added touch, now you've got me thinking for my copy..... :)

WIP Critique Youngs Usmc Fallujah 200mm Bust

GREAT work!! That looks fantastic. A wash of the base colour will really fade it down nicely, as these uniforms lose alot of "shape" definition as they fade quickly. Which colours did you end up using for each stage? I've found myself eyeing my copy of this every day now.....

Completed Critique Horse Artillery Of The Guard, Gunner, 1809

I was forced to look at this in person on Sunday, and tolerate whatever Colin had to say while I did it... :) All kidding aside, it's quite nice, and the blue has a much more subtle treatment than the photos let on. Keep going!

    Acrylics Advice Needed

I was looking through my paints to figure it out myself for some wargaming pieces, and the ones I came up with were Iraqi sand, deck tan, and ... I want to say Cork Brown. I wrote it down at home, and can check once the slave drivers let me out of here for the weekend

WIP Critique Youngs Usmc Fallujah 200mm Bust

Looks great, I love this face sculpt! I've never been one for it, as it scares me mostly, but if you look at the photos from OP Phantom Fury, the boys are all FILTHY...

    Acrylics Advice Needed

I'm a big fan of the Woodland vest, nice offset from the tan uniform. The USMC were never issued tri-colour IBA's, or MOPP suits in OIF, and by the time they had the MARPAT uniforms, the helmet covers were MARPAT as well. Either coyote or woodland would look good! (though my preference, and...

    What Next

Everyone is saying this year is going to be full of WWI releases....

    What Next

My friend and I had this discussion again and again for months and months. Resin is cheaper, and requires less set up, but is expensive at the beginning. Cheaper freight, means lower MSRP. Go figure, our proposed first 3 releases were all WW2 1/35, but the plan was to craft something to appeal...

    What Next

I looked into this a while ago, and stand fully behind what Stu has said. Unfortunately, if you want kits mastered by the "greats," with high quality castings, ALOT of kits need to be sold to cover the costs of the master, the resin, and the time put in. This is no more apparent than the number...

    What Next

I'd LOVE someone to do the 7 Samurai in 54mm...the new Andrea series is great but 75mm comes with a hefty price tag... I'd also like to see some neat cop/law enforcement types, like 1920's beat cops, or prohibition agents or something gangsterish. I'd love to paint wingtips and suits....probably...

    What Next

I'm all for more FRW, SYW, Great Northern War (neat release from Chronos this year), War of 1812 would be nice, and definitely Russo-Japanese. Some more Victorian Brits would be nice, perhaps Sudan or Afghanistan, Egypt?
