WIP Critique 200mm British Para mortar carrier Arnhem

I have to say Gells, the woodwork on that rifle is superb. Looks very realistic. I'm looking forward to seeing this project come together.

WIP 5th Bengal Cavalry Officer 1910

Well done Geoff. It came up a treat. Good call on the pearl medium, it's added a lovely subtle sheen without making it shiny.

WIP Critique Po' whiri Maori Warrior, 1/10th scale bust, DG Artworks

Hi Nap, still working on the skin tones and finalising some of the smaller facial details. Once I have the skin painted I'll get cracking on the moko. I've already started with the lips. Thanks Andrew, I'm looking forward to seeing this develop too. I'm being patient in terms of ensuring...

    WIP Critique Buffalo

I'd like to see a couple of straws of dried grass in the mouth or a big goober of slobbery, spit dangling from the side of his mouth Brian. And some caked on dirt and dried mud on the skin.

WIP Critique Po' whiri Maori Warrior, 1/10th scale bust, DG Artworks

Hi Chris, thanks mate. I'm looking forward to painting the moko but I still have lots of skin to paint first. Hi Mike, thanks mate. I'm keen to get your thoughts on the skin tones. I will be adding oil washes over the acrylics, so the final colour will be several shades darker than it...

WIP Critique Po' whiri Maori Warrior, 1/10th scale bust, DG Artworks

Hi guys, Most of you know that despite being an Australian, I have a real passion for the Maori culture of New Zealand, and I've modelled several Maori subjects over the years. In particular, I love the tattooing and scarification process known as ta moko, which is one of the most distinctive...

    WIP Youngs Roman (Maximus)

Great pics . Blowing up your photos to this size does help you spot little flaws that you can go back and correct, that may not be visible when looking at the bust with the naked eye. Love the detail you've put into the leather and metals.

WIP Critique TE Lawrence, 1/12th scale bust, FeR Miniatures

Hi Bob, thanks mate. I cheated a bit and used Tamiya masking tape to get the initial line spacing right and then did everything else freehand. Thanks Alan, I'm humbled by your comments. Hi Nicolae, thanks mate. I did a bit more work on the dagger last night and will add a Burnt Umber wash...

WIP Critique TE Lawrence, 1/12th scale bust, FeR Miniatures

Thanks so much Nicolae, I've never felt comfortable with NMM, and I'm not sure it would work on a fine fabric like silk. This is not the sort of bust I want to experiment with a new technique, just in case I make a realm hash of it. The tutorial on Figure Mentor was superb by the way...

    Gylippus of Sparta

Beautiful paintjob Macca. Really excellent work on the shield design. The leather and metal work is also top notch. I hope you enter him into FOTM.

WIP Critique TE Lawrence, 1/12th scale bust, FeR Miniatures

Thanks again for all your positive comments guys. Yes John, the sculptor (the great Latorre himself) has done a wonderful job of capturing the physical features of the real T.E. Lawrence, and this shines through. The fact that he could also be painted to look like Peter O'Toole from the movie...

You must be very happy with the finished result. I like the extra touches, such as the mud on the elbows.
