Hello Ivo

This is realy very nice work from you. I like it alot. Thank you for sharing. It looks amazing already.
I hope to see it in real.
Greetings Dick

Superb work. Very inspiring.

I wasn't there of course (in 1807), I think the quote was: "Têtes hautes, par Dieu, les balles, c'est pas de la merde." Of course, his men had the cold wind and snowflakes in their face. And the rest was history...

Cheers,

Patrick

Hi Patrick.
I confess... I wasn't there too also if I spent my time in the army as a grenadier ....

In many publication I found the sentence that I wrote as title of the post. Also the title of the painting reflect this words

now we are at the end of the race, only a few details differ in the various steps ...I added the sweat at the rubbing of the harness, it was done with W&N Oleoplasto stained with the titanium white

the bridle have been added in sheet of lead, while the ground is not the final ... waiting for the special base of the great Dino Pivato

the soldier is finished and as always some things can be improved.

I am as a whole satisfied even if I will appreciate it more after some time.

Specific base made from great Dino Pivato has been used,

the snow is "usual" mixture of PVA glue, baking soda, and various snow from the market. There are some minor specks of glass to give the reflections typical of icy snow

and finally a picture of our character with a cold and snowy background

to you for final comments

Very good Ivo, great job as always...Even so it is not your best horse painting but still very good..

One question; why you left two white spots on the front the horse chest?

Regards

hi debrito,

that's a black horse different form a grey or brown horse. for my point of view colors have to be more subtle and many free touch are not permitted

on the horse chest there are some sweat stains, normal when the horse is sweating and present on the painting

Hello Ivo

This is realy a peace of art. first a great job to see how you do the sculpting or conversion. Seems so easy how you do it but
I now better :). I like the colours that you used it looks very in harmony and the matt effects on the cloths are very well done.
The horse is in my opinion very nice painted and I agree with your comment about this matter. The pose off the figure and horse
is very dynamic and it comes to you and very attractive.
It was very funny to see that you where doing this figure because I have this picture of this figure for a while on my computer.
Looks we have the same interest haha. (y)
Just outstanding work Ivo and thank you for sharing. Looking forward for your next work.

Greetings Dick
