This is a project that has been on the back-burner for about 15 years! I used to have access to drawing my own etchings. I drew some silhouettes of 1:500 scale figures which I then bulked up with Miliput. The last photo of Zulus has what they look like before bending into more animated positions. I used to do all this without magnification but have got older, so need an optiviser these days. I also made a small wagon in styrene with etched wheels. You'll see the wheels have two layers to bulk out the rims. I'm not decided yet as to how big the diorama will be?/how many buildings to include? I have 1;32 projects to complete but am thinking of this one again and thought some of you would enjoy it.

Clearly a labour of love (or madness?).

Great idea to flesh out the silhouettes and the waggon is a masterpiece... my only issue is that the 2/24th facings are the wrong shade of green (they changed from willow green to grass green).... LoL ;)

Thanks for the warning. I'll change them to the correct colour before doing any more.

Thanks guys. I like miniature and have done a lot of tiny work.
I have a lot of dioramas in 1:285 scale. I have not posted them on here as it is a figure forum. You will find more photos on my website. (There is a link to it below.)

This is a scratch-built 60 pounder with converted 1:285 scale figures.

These are 1:400 scale Romans done the same way as the Zulus - etchings bulked out with Miliput.

These are 1:700 scale sailors on scratch-built ships.

I have 36 dioramas in 1:285 scale and they all have figures! Figures are my real passion - the rest is background.
I used to have perfect close sight and most of this was done unmagnified. I do need an optiviser these days. I probably strained my eyes!!

Here are some more images of my 1:400 Roman Villa - all scratch-built, including the trees, figures, animals.... I made the building at college 40 years ago, but improved the groundwork and added the figures about 15 years ago.
For those who want to see more, you can visit my website - link below. I will post more on here Nap/Kev.
