Hello,
First I would like to give you a little history of how this bust came to be and why. I have always wanted to do an older German Volkssturm. I wrote to a few companies asking if they had considered doing a bust like this. Most responded saying they didn't feel there was enough interest but would keep it in mind. That's ok I understand things need to sell. So I waited and of course like many added tons of other bust to my Grey Army. Then I see him United Empire Miniatures is releasing a Volkssturm. My order was in. I received the bust and was happy with him. But I had a vision of how I wanted him to look and started planning on how to make my vision become reality. He needed a few changes. In steps are friend and all around GREAT guy Steve of Reedee's miniatures. I bought a 1/9th flare gun to add to my bust. But I had a big problem. I wanted my bust to wear a Luftschultz helmet. An e-mail to Steve and some pics of myself in a real Luftschultz helmet and he was willing to sculpt a helmet on commission. Oh my god my vision was getting closer. The helmet arrived and it was perfect. Now another problem. The decal on the front of the helmet. Now I know there are many great artist on this site. All of you have talents beyond my ability. The bust had been painted and displayed by a few on this site and I thought I can't match that so I'll make mine a bit different. I posted about the decal and got a great deal of ideas and responses from many kind members. I thank them one and all. Again Steve helped and I had a decal. I have finished the bust I envisioned.. None of this would have been possible without Steve and Reedee's Miniatures and the many helpful folks here. You all have my sincerest thanks. I know he's not as well painted as many of the works posted here but I hope you'll enjoy the bust as much as I do. And think how cool it is that so many especially Steve help make it happen. In a world not so friendly at times the members here stepped up and really showed what friendship is. Thank you all again. Cheers Brock.
Now the bust. Sorry the photos are not better but I will keep trying.

Brock excellent finish to the bust mate, I was more than happy to help out in helping you create your vision, there has been far too much hostility on this site of late and it's just my little way of trying to get the site back to how it used to be, a place for modellers to help each other.

All the best
Steve

Thanks guys,
And thank you Steve for all you help and effort. I think you are on the right track to making this site a great place to be and help one another. All who have responded to this post make it a great site. Cheers Brock
