Have only just caught up with this and very instructive it is. I have a similar problem with a legacy 120mm Verlinden Mounted Cuirassier – am worried the horse’s legs, only 2 of which are in contact with the ground (it’s rearing), will not support the weight of its body and rider. Have been putting it off because of this. Does anyone have experience with this kit to suggest a, fairly easy, solution, please? Am resigned to having to insert wires in the legs but, how far to go?

Jeff

Just a reflexion about this. If you cut the legs by the middle and introduce a long wire in both sides, glue them and finally introduce another wire at the end of the leg to fix the piece to the terrain, maybe this solution works well.
I hope this helps.

Cheers

Hi Graham

Have you got an further along with this project or have you finished it ?

Hi Malc. When I quit 18 months ago I threw out a lot of stuff that I shouldn’t have done. However, this did survive the binning and is still as it was in my last post. However, I have got it on my ‘to do’ list to continue working on it so I do hope to resume work at some point.

Quit as in ?

I quit modelling and painting figures Malc. Just woke up one morning and thought ‘I can’t do this anymore’ and threw out virtually all my paints, models and figures. Only a few figures survived simply because they were in a different place and I missed them. Thankfully those few that survived helped me get back into it again. Thankfully this rider and horse is one of the survivors.

Right,

I do that every week... Quit work ....still go

Like to see how you get back in to it with this one.

To be honest I have had a year break, I find i have to to stop it becoming to intense.

I just pick my camera up and take pics.

Hi Graham, I think we all get to the point of quitting at times... Ive been lucky in that I always get drawn back in. but have regretted tossing a few kits in the bin.. Good to hear this mounted figure has been saved... Wish you all the best with its completion..

Ive only just got back into it. When it's going well, its a joy. Other times it can feel like a chore. Hopefully you'll come back into into the hobby.
