A wee bit of fine tuning and they'll be finished.

The Eastern Viking is produced by Best Soldiers, and the smaller one by LAB-54.
El Greco stocks both of them, although i think they're waiting for the Eastern Viking to come back in stock
I've seen quite a few versions of the viking, which are really well done.

Hi
Neat to see these especially the Nubian Brian.
What did you use for his skin tones?

Happy New Year to you & yours mate!

Mike
Hi Mike
I undercoated the face with Humbrols Sand 93 and mixed lamp black, burnt sienna and burnt umber oils.Shading was done with pure black and the highlights were done by adding small quantities of flesh ochre.I more or less experimented with this flesh mix as i'd never used it before,so i used wet on dry techniques to enhance the contrast, but kept it subtle,as it would be so easy to overdo the contrast.I tend to be subtle with all my painting .It's not that i don't like the more OTT style that's about today ,it's just the style i adopted.
All the best Mike.
