For the Suvorov bust as such I have the necessary info, for additional hardware as in some of the paintings I have to do some further research.

At the moment I am working on a samurai archer by Talant, on the Zhukov and Bagration busts by Bodunov, advancing one little step at a time.

Happy painting,

Pierre

Sounds good and your very busy , I think I saw something someone was asking if Suverov had his hair in a plait at the back

Enjoy what your doing

Stay tuned for more updates late tomorrow

Quick piccy update first before carrying on with the actual fringes ( currently starting to get colour on )

The whole look will change after all gold is done ...with careful use of the Citadel contrast

Sunny and bright here so ideal painting time

Think I might slightly darken the uniform once all bling is done

Looking good, I've used the Citadel glaze 'Lamentors yellow' on NMM in the past, sounds like a contrast colour might be a good investment.

Cheers Simon

Progress has been made ...epaulettes all finished less the monogram

Now working on the aguilette

Need to confirm the centre design on the cross on aguilette as well

Using these as extra refs for the goldwork and a nice reference for the uniform colour ....still going to revisit my attempt once all blings done !

All comments welcome

Happy benchtime

Brilliant Kev those eppulets look the bees knees (where the he'll did that saying come from, haven't heard it in years), anyway yes he's looking good. If you do revisit the uniform, only very subtle highlights just to give shape to the creases I would suggest. Oh and don't forget the actual medals!

Cheers Simon

Hi everyone

Thank you for the comments appreciate your time

Apart from the neck cross and the star details and some shading on the monograms on epaulettes , the finally the actual medals ....

Get the head on , will relook at the hair as I have realised I started but stopped to do the bling !

Pic shows the monogram ref I used ( original to period )

Couple of iffyvision pics

All thoughts welcome as always

Thanks for looking in

Very nice work Nap!

But don't mix up your tsars! You painted the right monogram, as sculpted on the bust, but your illustration shows the one for poor Nick 2.

It is said that our friend should have worn the monogram of Alex III, but as a snub for a late promotion he continued wearing the Alex II one.

The one on the bust is of course this one in silver:

Looking great Kev, as you pull the last bits together it just keeps getting better, of course a head would be good!

Thanks Pierre ....the last thing I wanted was to mix my Tsars ! ......

Your reference is the one sculpted on bust and will be in a silver ....fascinating he didn’t wear the current Tsars monogram due to a late promotion!

Back at bench now after a “delightful” morning and more shopping !
