Thanks David,Lovely painting so far John, always enjoy seeing your work progress.
Cheers David
Thanks Fermatgom. If you do your first base coat of yellow with white or light grey mixed in it will cover better, then paint a second coat with just the yellow, you could need a third coat depending on how bright the yellow is.Then start your highlights and shadows.By mixing white or light grey to the first base coat it makes it more opaque hence makes it cover better. Hope this helps.Excelent progress! I'm thinking about buying this figure so this SBS will be useful.
Wasn't it difficult to cover with yellow+black primer below? I have had some bad experiences with Vallejo's yellow, it took me thousands of layers till I got a solid color
Thanks Paul, appreciate your comment.Lovely stuff John....not even surprised either !
Paul.
Thanks Blind Pew.I have painted this uniform and I found it a pig to be honest.
Enjoy it though mate - you seem to have it nailed from where I'm sat!
Thanks Malc, yes not a easy colour to paintJohn
I know yellow is one of the hardest colours to paint, you've absolutely nailed it.

Thanks Zane. Yes mixed Off white grey brown, I only use pure white for the most extreme high light.that white is looking nice and sharp , was that a mix with grey for the first coat?
Zane
