Some time ago I purchased the boxes of 3 old 90mm kits of medieval kights from Soldiers, wonderfully sculpted by Laruccia. Since all of them represent a 14th century knight I decided to paint each one coming from a different part of Italy (north, middle, south) and I just started with south.
Raimondo del Balzo was a very important people in the kingdom of Naples and Sicily, general commander of Naples army as well as the governor of Sicily along over 20 years. he has a complex biography and a central presence in all the events of southern Italy in the fourteenth century.

Many thanks to everybody guys. As I promise here after some historical notes about the owner of the shield
Guidoriccio from Fogliano (Reggio Emilia, 1290 - Siena, June 16, 1352) was an Italian war captain, imperial vicar for Reggio Emilia, mayor of Padua, Verona and often war captain the town of Siena. It went down in history for his depiction in the famous fresco by Simone Martini in the Public Palace in Siena that represents the siege of Montemassi. About this fresco some discussions arose at the beginning of the eighty's about the identity of the knight represent into the paint since Siena and his war captain was, at the age of the work of Simone Martini, in disagreement and Guidoriccio left Siena to Reggio Emilia. However late research found in Padua mayors's heraldry book a reference to Guidoriccio with the same elements of the fresco heraldry.
