many thanks Kev & Mick,
it was quite a challenge for my geriatric cad skills but I wanted to see if I could do it.
I am greatly relieved that it meets with both of your approval

Wish I had your skills ...but a 3D printer would also help !

Certainly meets my approval ..and gratitude .......Happy it worked ...almost a shame to paint over it !

Hi everyone

Quick picture update ...nearer to getting this finished

Just the pouch connections , the medal and the sword and gloves to do ...need to think about the latter

As always looks better in reality !

He's looking good from here. Nice work so far!

Looks very nice Kev. Looking forward to it being completed. Mick.

You have managed to inject life into what could have easily have become a rather drab figure with the greens and blacks. A credit to you.

Malkie

Thank you for the comments

Medals all done ,working on his gloves now

I am adding the ring on scabbard and upper sword belt joining it onto the edge of the underside as it went under jkt to a belt worn

Here’s some good pics showing sword being worn

Also found a interesting version of the sword knot ...in brown leather ...this was a 60th Regt Officers ....might make a interesting addition rather than black

And again the updates weren't highlighted for me, really must get back into the habit of manually checking through the threads.

Anyway, great progress Kev, considering how monotone these uniforms actually look there is an awful lot of detail and nuance required. The ornament for the hat is great, excellent stuff from Neil, that would be a major pain to make out of putty!

I agree with Mick regarding the chin strap, I know it should be there but it ain't a great look, even worse on a pill box hat.

Hi Simon

Will get the issue ref updates he led for you ( PM sent to Tech )

Thanks for the comments ...as you say Neil did a great job so hats off to him

Chin strap ....still in two minds ...every picture has one on 🤔

Been pushing putty and adding a bugle horn on hat at top of cords

DDEA4591-DD2C-4A40-9042-139ACC694AB3.jpeg

Reworked the sword and now it’s basecoated waiting ......added the crown and buglehorn under guard ...it won’t show much but I know it’s there !

Cue iffy pics.....

Stay tuned ...this is close to finishing !

Once sword hand in place will add the strap

Happy benchtime

My 10p again here is a picture of one with one without chin strap. I think if he was wearing headdress then yes with chinstrap. but for it just to hang No

PAINTING BLACK GLOVES ......

Advice from Andy Statham

On the subject of painting black gloves, I would first mix a very dark grey/brown using black(950), burnt umber(941) and tan earth(874). Shadows would be black and highlights add more tan and then add a little bit of white to the highlight mix for final highlights. Numbers a Vallejo acrylics. 👍

Sounds good to me 🙏

That's all looking ace Kev, loving all the extras you are putting on, it's becoming something of a habit for you these days. But worth it for a unique and personal bust. Keep up the good work mate!

Hi.
Dont have a problem with the sword belt ring, may be a tad high but I can live with it😁 Carry on the good work.
Mick

It’s on the edge of the actual cast piece where ring would have been

Hi

What putty do you use....

Or have you said and I missed it.

And yes I am late to the party and doing some catch up 🤓
