Hello all fellow Planet Figure members,

I have a small confusion regarding the tartan that was worn at Balaklava from the 93rd Regiment of Sutherland Highlanders. If someone could post a photo of the tartan pattern, would be greatly appreciated.
I have found that it looks like the goverment tartan, but with different black lines crossing the squares. I found that it is like the goverment tartan just, in lighter colors and also that it looks like goverment tartan but without the blue squares.

If someone knows and has a reference I would greatly appreciated.
Thanks all in advance.

Hi There,
The tartan worn by the 93rd is the same as the Black Watch but suposedly in a lighter hue but in pratice they are exactly the same.HTH

As has been said above - it is exactly the same as the Black Watch wear - i.e. the "Government Tartan".

The main difference is where the thin horizontal and vertical lines running through the 'blue' are placed. Though to be honest you'd need to stand very close to one of the jocks to notice the difference

My two very crude MS paint attempts might help! The one on the left in how the Black Watch kilt is worn - the two lines are placed at the centre of the body / belt. The one on the right is the Argyll pattern with the 4 lines placed at the centre of the body / belt...
