Hi to all

Legion have added another to their series of busts and for me at least a subject I wasn't really aware .....the name Nakhimov is honoured in Russia since his death in the Crimean War , ships , naval schools, medals (see below) , stamps , films and a lot more have been created

In the release the admiral wears the dark blue long coat with a cross at the neck , shirt underneath unbuttoned with epaulettes on each shoulder heavily fringed with three Imperial double headed eagles on each one

As is the normal for Legion there is a laser cut box which holds the contents in clear bags and sandwiched between foam layers , with in this case a picture on the top of a unpainted version

Nothing major apart from some casting excess to remove from the underside of the torso and the head , this and make up the base parts if you want to use them after removing small excess from the pieces (y)

Lets look at the resin starting this time withe the :

Head

Despite this release being a simple bust looking at the head it certainly is not , the facial features are accurate when we look at pictures of the admiral , the distinctive small moustache with the hair ends being seen from underneath the cap, these sit well onto the side of the face , the ends nicely shaped , good texture on the hair at the back and on the moustache and eyebrows

Features are good with eye , ears and nostril sculpting being well done

On the head he wears the soft peaked naval cap , the peak sitting on the forehead the cap itself pushed back at a angle, the actual material shows nice folds and very good piping definition around the crown and lower part of the cap , the top has good raised areas , on the front the oval badge, well shaped and with lined details

Torso

Depicted wearing the naval coat which is fully buttoned up onto the right side, good folds on both the torso and the arm , where the coat is worn the edging is sharply worked , on this part there are 6 buttons correctly paced out with imperial eagles sculpted on each one ..nice to see such details

At the neck there is the cross from the I believe the order of St George , a small decoration being worn for such a rank but its certainly a practical uniform for action

The collar work is a pleasure to see the coat part is raised with the ends being shaped , the award ribbon being sculpted coming out from underneath , behind this a open collared shirt , both edges follow the neck shaping closely

In the centre of the neck a more than enough cut out all ready to receive the head post securely

Across the chest a strap , good undercuts , you can see this in the pictures , possible a binocular or telescope

On both shoulders heavily fringed epaulettes , very good drops and ends on both sides , these sit naturally onto the body of the coat, on each one we see 3 Imperial double headed eagles decreasing in size from the outer of the crescent

Base

Consisting of 2 parts with the T piece fits onto the underside shaping with the circular part fits against the curve .....making this base:

These pictures are is the previous review here:https://www.planetfigure.com/threads/robert-e-lee-from-legion-miniatures.287828/)

...but the base fits the same !!

Final Thoughts
A simple bust in terms of colour but one with details to paint , the contrast of the dark uniform with the epaulettes is particularly striking

I hope you have enjoyed looking at this release as much as I :)
