i have two questions first question is i picked out two figures should i continue these two figures by doing and now the second question which of these three books on the marines-ww2 can i use any of them for reference- they are two from osprey and historie and collections.

Multipose Marines
Hi,
This may come as a disappointment to you, but my advice is to forget those Marines if you want a quality piece. To begin with, Multipose figures, although they were among the best, maybe the best, plastic figures of their times, are simply not up to today's standards.
Also, the Marines in particular, are very inaccurate, with a strange mixed uniform, and other deficiencies, like invented accesory pouches, or absence of correct pouches for some of the weapons included.
Updating and accurizing those figures requires a lot of work and aftermarket parts or spares, and it is surely better to just go for better options, like the Dragon G2 Marines.

I forgot... If you want a single, basic but very competent, reference, buy Osprey Elite #59, USMC 1941-45. I have not seen the H&C book, but judging from other similar works, it is probably a good buy if you want to invest in a more complete source.
Schiffer's volume on the subject is excellent, although, it being a large, fully illustrated volume, is expensive. In between you have the book edited by Windrow and Greene, but I think it is out of print (although obtainable through second hand dealers).

"US Marine Corps Uniforms & Equipment in World War 2", by Jim Moran
Crowood Press purchased the rights on at least part of W&G titles when they ceased production. Maybe the book was published with their label too.
