Quick update: I’m done with the eyes with the exception of the catch lights. I’ll do those after the gloss varnish cures. Probably tomorrow and then I’ll frame the eyes and start the face.

Mario, there are lots of videos on YouTube and a few tutorials here on PF. Just starting painting faces and watch the videos and in no time you’ll be painting great faces. Just Do it.

Update: I've got the eyes painted as well as I can do them. Some lessons learned for the next set of eyes. I’ve got the base coat of the skin tone on and will start to paint in earnest on Sunday.

Another update: still working on it but feel like I made solid progress today. A couple more hours of painting and the face will be done.

Update: made progress on the face and have finished the stock and collars.

I’ve started the Busby. I painted all of the darkest shadows first. This is a departure from how I normally paint but wanted to ensure that the base and highlights don’t don’t get too dark. The busby is massive and soaks up paint. So I’ll have a bit of work ahead of me.

Good start on the busby ...presume you've used a dark black/brown ?
