Hi folks,

Off to the next figure. This is an older Andrea kit. It’s a 54MM and I think the sculpt holds up pretty well after many years. I’ve been trying to clean up the bench and it’s next.

I’ll paint the rifle and hands as a sub assembly to I can get to the entire uniform.

The kit is cleaned up primed and the initial ground work is done. Hopefully this will paint up well.

Thanks for taking a look.

Yes, a lovely sculpt and a great start by yourself.. I have the duel figure set, as well as a single figure of the surrendering soldier.. The Andrea figures of old, were great..

Yes, Andrea had had some fantastic figures, this is one of them.

Thanks Nap,

Yep, lips, eyes and cigarette today. Hopefully the helmet as well. We shall see what the day brings.
Hi Mike

The face is looking good , lips and eyes next

Have fun at the bench

Update: not much of one today, I spent way more time on the eyes than I wanted to: finally got them to be passable. I blocked in the helmet to get a feel for what else needs to be done.

Tomorrow I’ll block in the helmet straps and finalize the face. Quite a bit blending left to do. More than I would like frankly.

Thanks for looking.

Hi Mike

I've no doubt those eyes were difficult to get placed right especially under the helmet rim

I don't think your too far off on the blending ...you'll get there

Looking forward to seeing the colours you use for the uniform

Following with interest

Happy benchtime

Hi Mike

Nice start on the uniform , good reference idea !

....got to ask what colours are you using for the jacket ?

The figures certainly coming to life with every brushstroke

Thanks for the update

Looking forward to seeing more

Happy benchtime

Hi Nap,

Thanks and you are right the figure is coming to life quickly. Honestly, it’s an excellent sculpt, and I believe that a better sculpt is easier to paint. It just kind of flows.

I’ll attach the colors for the tunic:
