I have to agree Steve. Nobody from my generation can forget watching "Whickers World" on the telly to see how the other half lived. And his Barclaycard ads were the best. RIP

One of the All Time Greats , Can any one else remember the April fools gag The Spaghetti harvest where he was strolling through the orchards of Italy just as they were harvesting the spaghetti crops . I knew it was a joke because my dad told me spaghetti grows underground and has to be dug up just like spuds !!! .
What made Alan Whicker so great is he actualy listened to and let the person he was interviewing reply to the questions he asked before hitting with the next one .
