WIP Critique Aquila bust, Nuts Planet 1/9th scale

Hi guys,

Here are the first pics of my version of this great bust from Nuts Planet.

Early days. The face is coming along and will receive a treatment of oil washes before I fix the cheek guards and fix the head into the helmet. There's some additional shading needed around the nose and cheeks.

I'm painting him in a pale skin tone to reflect that he's the Aquilifer of the 9th Legion stationed in northern Britannia, carrying the rescued Eagle on his back in secret

Really nice job with the face. Is it just me or does he kind of remind anybody else of Sean Bean? I think he looks a bit like Sean as Ned Stark from Game of Thrones.

Thanks everyone for your comments. Glad you like the bust.

I hadn't previously seen the similarity to Sean Bean but now that you've pointed it out, I can see it. Wasn't what I was aiming for, but its in the eye of the beholder.

Ron, this particular Aquilifer from the 9th Legion will turn up on one of your outstanding bust plinths in Australia Those Romans do get around don't they.
