Nice trees! One suggestion - try to make them a bit thicker at the base and have some evidence of the roots going in to the ground. That helps tie them in to the groundwork. Your new armatures look like they have bigger roots to work with compared to your first one.

Hi Richie

Nice idea for the figures , they will work well

Good start on the trees ...will be looking out for more forestry work

You can’t hide that bust behind the trees ...lol

Hi All,
A bit more work done on the trees. I have fleshed out the trunks on all 7 and started to work on the branches.
The branches are going to be done with milliput once hardened I will refine the forks ect.

Nigel the long roots are left long so I can stand them up for the time being. These will be used for inserting into the base groundwork with the odd one visible.

Cheers Richie

Hi Nigel,
Thanks mate, I will definitely need to keep refining these as I go along. I think in a few places I have loaded the paste a bit too thick and will alter the base of the trunks to suit.
I wanted them fleshed out quickly to make sure I can get all the figures and trees I want on the base size.
cheers

Hi Mario,
Thanks, not being involved with 1/35 previously I was only made aware of Dio Dump a few months ago. Roy has some really nice stuff,
couldn't resist and always good to have a lot of different options.
cheers

Hi Nap,
Thank you, it will probably change a little here and there. I decided to get that bust off the shelf so I could use up paint from the Para sessions.
cheers

Ha that's priceless, use up the left over paint on a bust, sorry that just tickled me a little. It is true though we throw.more paint away than we ever put on a figure.

Cheers Simon

Hi All,
I have done a bit more work on the base for the Polish Para's. I have made the base out of styro foam to keep it light, sized it with white glue and texturing paste before adding an initial layer of DAS.
It'a case of needing all the figures and trees done in order to finish the base correctly for the figures and be able to interlock the tree branches.

I also received today a US Para bazooka team by H3 Models. These are really nice figures and have a couple of other in my stash.

I must give a shout out to Roy of Dio Dump in Holland, only took about a week to get here. He has some beautiful model kits and I could not resist
another purchase.

Last but not least, a big thank you to my good mate Steve Readdie who supplied with a Para badge to go on my Arnhem diorama
base. It painted up lovely and he also sent pegasus badge he sculpted that I will use later.
cheers

Epic, love the base for the Polish, it's going to be complex with all the branches, but will look awesome. With all the bits you get you've got to be careful you don't end up doing most of North West Europe in scale. The cap badge is a nice touch as well, I wonder if Polish cap badges are obtainable or can be made?

Cheers Simon
