Excellent Richie. As said, you have captured the cramped and frantic action that was the battle around the Arnhem bridge. I like the grenade thrower throwing his grenade in a different direction, it perfectly shows how close the fighting was, and from all directions. I would still paint the 'sandbags' in lighter colours, like pillows and mattresses, but that's just me.

Hi Steve, Simon, Henk and Steve,
Thank you so much again for your help, advice, support and encouragement, I have learned a lot.

I checked my Wee Friends and Verlinden figures and I can't combine them with the others, more 54 than 1/35. I think I have 4 Dragon figures in the same ilk.
I may use these 20+ figures for another scene so it keeps the continuity of scale and size. So I will make them into Stanislaw Sosabowski's
Polish independant paratroopers. This means I will have to create a lot more figures for the scene in the woods, but have a ready supply of figures for the additional diorama.:facepalm::facepalm:

First job is to build the 6 pdr so I can plan the size of the base, a lot of parts and very small parts on this one. Be back in a week or two after I have scratched my heads a few times:D
cheers
Richie

Which 6pounder is it? I have the Bronco one, with the Jeep and crew. Jeep and gun are nice, but the figures are so so.
I wouldn't sweat the different scales to much. Not all paratroopers were 6' tall .

Hi Henk,
It is the stand alone Bronco 6 pdr. I also have the one with the jeep and crew. It's not so much the size of the figures it's the scale of the weapons, equipment and accotrements thats the problem, if I used them mixed in with Bronco type figures I would have to alter all the afore mentioned.

The first diorama is indeed epic. A lot of work that has turned out really well, and still a long way to go with the others!

You're already famous Richie.....:D(y)

Hi Nigel,
Thank you, it was a lot of work but didn't seem like it in a strange sort of way. Once I had done the figure poses to fit in with the surroundings everything just seemed to flow on this one. We'll see how the next one goes. Thank you for all the support really appreciated.
cheers

Ahh, bad link, somebody posted your Arnhem dio on Facebook (not claiming it was theirs btw. ), but I just spotted that you've posted it yourself aswel.

Did you turn it inside out because it was wash day mate!:D or is it a Dutch one:rolleyes:

Nah I turned my phone to selfie mode but it took a mirror image, I'm not tech savvy enough to know how to change it the right way round. Will need an updated t-shirt for this years anniversary though.

Cheers Simon

You’ve done the Diorama and yourself proud with #1 ....looking forward to the second Diorama

Hi Nap & Dave,
Thank you. I have decided what to do with the Para's from Wee Friends & Verlinden I have decided to set them in a wooded area at Driel as Polish Para's.
I have wanted to make some trees for a while. I want to keep the base approx. the same size as the battle scene 7"x 8". I'm waiting for some styrofoam for the groundwork as I need to have Para's dug in as well.
cheers
