Hi All,
In a fit of madness I purchased the Masterbox French Cuirassier. Its detail is awesome.
BUT.... The horse the 2 halves don't fit.seriously I've glued the neck and there is a gap at the back end of 5- 6 mm
Any ideas as to how to sort this out.
My plan is to get it as close as possible and then either (shoot it) or (turn it into cat food ) fill it as best I can.
I've glued it as far of the bottom of the neck.

Photos to come

Chris

I should have gone with the ICM ANZACS

Insert a pin where the gap is by going through the two halves of the body.
cut the excess then sand flush
use this pin as a support for putty (like rebar for concrete) and fill that gap with as much epoxy putty as you can
sand flush

Listen to Mike and Alex, they know what they are talking about.I have all three of MB's Napoleonics in 1/32 their detail is superb (equivalent to resin castings) and the price ridiculous for a mounted figure. So what if there is a little flaw(mine's alright by the way),anyone who has worked with Historex horses knows that inserting plastic sheet between the two halves, filling with putty and sandpapering until your arm goes numb is part of the drill. The possibilities offered by a fine cast figure in good quality, hard plastic are limitless, you shouldn't pass that by.With a little extra work you will end up with a piece which, when painted,is going to have everyone asking you where you got it and what company produces it.Hope you'll find it in you to take up the task.I know it will pay off.

Oda.

Cheers and thanks guys.
Oda, I agree about the detail it's sweet . I'll be breaking out the milliput and thin sheet plastic and we'll go from there.

Thanks again

Chris

PS I'll post photos soon

I botched one like that as well. Back in the box it and on to the shelf it went. Some day I'll drag it out and insert a in a shim.
