And if you weren't confused about what is flat and satin before you will be now. Do these things have a shelf life as I have had mine for ages.

This was written before seeing the above about the plume

Cheers Simon

I dont know mate - it could be down to me not shaking the bottle enough, but I think the finish will do now.

Yeah I must admit to having different results from the same bottle, could it be down to the pigments in what is being varnished? Bloody paints are meant to make life easy, but then again if it wad that easy it wouldn't be as much fun!

I like them!.
You did a great job at them W, i like the satin finish on the headgear and flat finish on their uniforms.
I generally use Vallejo brush on satin varnish for belts, cartridge boxes and wood areas of weapons, after i spray the entire figure with Flat varnish.

Thank you kindly mate - very kind of you.

Change of tack - I am doing a bit of scenery work extending the wall of the kitchen garden on the roadside, it is cut out of Two pieces of MDF Stuck together then some bricks was scribed into it and painted (deliberate accident - the bricks are slightly bigger than the others).

Always used foam board for walls but it probably wouldn't work in your scale, too flimsy. Nice scribing.

Thank you kindly, MDF was the logical material as the rest of the buildings are mede from it and I have some off cuts knocking around.

Right then - I am not too happy with the size of the bricks or the height of the wall - so I may change things - watch this space....

W.

A wee bit more progress - I have re done the wall extension - currently waiting for it to dry and to be weathered, also I have added some of my resin water in some roadway wheel ruts and by the walls, and also added these poor chaps -

Nice detail mate, plenty of standing water on the day I guess, as for those poor souls, that's the ugly side of the profession. In this day and age I don't think we can comprehend the utter carnage and loss of life in a single day.

Cheers Simon
