Hi W

Apologies missed the last updates .....looking at the figures in position really makes all your hard work , both on them but also the basework/buildings

You deserve a massive pat on the back

Look forward to seeing more

Have fun

Nap

Thank you so much - s very kind of you to say.

Evening all, during my flat coating saga I decided to do the same to my pile of French casualities.

It is a pile of casualties. I may have asked before bit what do use as a flat coat, since Testors stopped making their dull cote I haven't found anything early as good.

Cheers Simon

Im using the Mig Ammo Ultra Matt, I think its working better for me mow - I warm it up first by sitting the bottle in a tub of hot water - then I shake the life out of the bottle and brush it on in a thin layer by removing most of the varnish so its almost going on damp not wet.

I'm getting nice results with the AK Ultra Matt Varnish, but I thin my paint with it rather than water. I seem to remember this conversation some time ago now, my memory is shocking. Still miss the dull cote though.

Cheers Simon

Yes, we had that conversation regarding the Ultra Matt varnish from AK here, i mix my paintwith it too.
I still have my Testors dullcote here.
I didn't know it was discontinued.

Yep they where a bit more vibrant on the British Cavalry, so I added a we bit of Yellow to my darker Reds - same with my Officer Infantry jackets - think they just had better fabrics than the front line Infantry.

W.

Traditiinally most of the cavalry corps were considered of higher status compare to the Imfantry.
I really like how vibrant these reds look, i am never happy with my reds.
Cheers!

Yes indeed thats my understanding aswel - it was my Vallejo Napoleonic Red that had been darkened for all the British Infantry jackets, I then mixed up a bit and kind of added a wee bit of Yellow till it became lighter and more vibrant.

W.

He looks great, reds can be a problem colour, I tend to use Vallejo Deep Vermilion but then my figures are a bit larger.

Cheers Simon

Hi W

They are coming along nicely ....don’t we all love reds ....lol

Keep painting it’s certainly worth it

Have fun at the bench

Thank you kindly Nap, I aim to please - just glad I am not in 72nd scale or smaller - some have better eyesight to pull off these scales.
