Finished this figure before starting the Dargai diorama… an Officer of the 62nd Foot at Saratoga, 1777, after the great Don Troiani. The leather gloves are especially interesting, and note the rifle and bayonet carried in place of the sword. This to make officers less conspicuous as targets of Continental riflemen.

This is part of a Dargai project Bills doing

Piper Findlater was shot through both ankles and continued to play his bagpipes. Note the strange curved sword issued to pipers in India (Barthorp).

Bills already underway with the next figure, the officer advancing in the left foreground of the painting…

It’s great to see the phenomenal Bill Horan getting a massive round of applause. I remember seeing photographs of his Gandamak diorama in 1989 when it won Best of Show at that year’s Euro-Militaire. There was figure modelling before Gandamak and figure modelling after. Rather like the great Shep Paine before him he’s one of a tiny handful of true game changers. Absolutely stupendous work and a great inspiration to all of us I’m sure.

djeez man,how do they do that??? I love everybody his paintwork
one exception, not mine, always a strange feeling if I see very nice painted figures,
