I could spend hours looking at these. The attention to detail and execution are phenomenal. I have to remind myself these are "only" 54mm figures and then i admire them again.

I had the pleasure of seeing him in action at meetings when I was still active in SCAHMS way back when. I remember seeing him sculpting one of his baseball player figures at a demonstration.

Saw this fantastic Diorama ....modelling and presentation at its best

“The Storming of Dargai Heights; The Tirah Campaign, 1897” after Vereker Hamilton’s painting. Project finally completed! Normally I like to post the story behind the vignette, but this one was a bit involved, so I encourage anyone who’d like to know more to read either the thumbnail history available on Wikipedia, or Michael Barthorp’s excellent, “The Frontier Ablaze”.
The fun part of this project was the combination of 1st Gordon Highlanders and the Gurkhas who charged up the slopes along with a Sikh Regiment (not depicted here). I need a break from painting kilts! The other unique element for me was the groundwork almost entirely comprise of sculpted and painted rock. The composition really surrounds and highlights Piper Findlater who, though shot through the both ankles, continued to play his “Cock of the North”. Findlater was later awarded The Victoria Cross by the Queen herself.
Totally agree.........understated, dramatic,.... there's being there and there's
seeing this. It's like witnessing history...... pure Bill Horan magic !!
