 Reminds me of a remark I overheard while looking at the Sunflowers painting in the Van Gogh museum. The remark was: "It's way too yellow! I would have done it differently if it was me."

Kenneth,

Just look back at your first sculpt and see how far you've been : the projects got more ambitious, the poses more natural and the composition vastly improved.

Some aspects are perfectible of course (EVERYTHING is) but I have nothing but respect and admiration for a self-taught 'amateur' doing it in his spare time for nothing but the fun of it. (y) (y)

One remark if I may. Looks like the 'food' theme is recurrent in your projects. Is it because as Paul Quek told me once, 'Singapore is the food-lover's heaven'?

Cheers,
Quang

Gee, I expect no less from the likes of you

Hi Pete  ! Thanks for the observations;I really appreciate them. As for the bird on the rocks,I meant to depict them flying in to feed on the scraps from the trooper. Hope that clears up the misconception that you have about the birds. ;) Cheers !
Kenneth :)

I see another silver medal on the horizon.

Outstanding work!!! I can't wait to see this one finished.
I just find Petes comments such a swing in perspective

Quang,my friend,THANK YOU very much for the encouragement;I REALLY appreciate it ALOT ! Cheers !
Kenneth.

P.S. Yes,Singapore is INDEED a food "heaven",hence the food theme for most of my projects  ! Perhaps I'm too much of a "foodie" that it unconsciously crosses over to my modelling projects ;) !

The problem is they look like they're perched at odd angles, making it look unnatural. If there were a way to suspend them in mid-air then .... hey, what about using a thin transparent fiber optic to "pin" them into the rocks? Say you pin each just a few millimeters above the rock. This could be just enough to give the illusion of flying in.

Now why didn't I think of that before ;) ? Thanks for the tip,Pete (y) ! Will stretched clear plastic sprue do the same job as the transparent fibre optic ? I'll make the amendments to the vignette now. Cheers !
Kenneth  .

Well, guys, here then is my amended vignette :) . I replaced the wire holding the birds in mid-flight with clear stretched plastic sprue and bulked up the upper arms and thighs of the figure a bit. I,for one,am quite happy with the changes. Next step, painting ;) ! Thanks for looking and cheers !
Kenneth

Hi Kenneth...I think you've compiled a very interesting scene....I think I said in an earlier post that I thought all the additional little details really made the scene come to life...sorry for repeating...the birds make it spring to life..and the attention you've given to the groundwork is very special...great stuff mate....and I bet you have some fun painting it.

All the best.

Roy.

Thank you very much,Roy;I really appreciate the positive comments   !! Yes,I'm REALLY looking forward to painting up the vignette. Cheers !

Hey guys  ,so SORRY :( about not updating my vBench recently, but work was a "killer" these past few weeks or so ! Anyhow,I FINALLY got down to painting the vignette components, leaving only the figure itself to be finished. Please excuse the poor photography as I was only able to take these photos this evening hours. Thanks for looking. Next up will be the "Birdman" himself ;) ! Cheers !
