Ciao Maurizio. Grazie. Il cavallo e' Micheal Roberts ma ho dovuto lavorare un po' sulla parte frontale dell collo. Era troppo piccolo ma niente di serio.

Wow. Very nice Stephen! At this rate you will have a whole bunch of figures to bring to Chicago. Napoleonics must be very fun to paint. :)

Wendy

Wendy, thanks. Hopefully it will be with me in Chicago so we can talk about all our figures there. See you soon

Stephen Mallia

Hi Stephen

I have to say that is a great little piece, nice ballance and composure, the figure is well mated to the horse, I hope you are painting it now, are you going to Euro, I would like to have seen this up close, or maybe WE next year if you haven’t sold him by then

Dave

Hi Dave thanks. Yes I will be at Euro so we will have some time to talk about each others' works. It will be a great pleasure seeing you again.

Stephen

Hi Stephen,
Remember me? I'm the guy who helped you out with the Fahrquharson tartan. Would love to see a picture!
Sorry to have dropped out of site. My furniture design and building business has really taken off and there has been precious little time to continue my training in figure sculpting and painting. But, tomorrow, I will visit Bill Merklein to have him beat me with a stick as I try to learn to sculpt and I will work with Greg di Franco next week and pray he doesn't give up on me as a student painter. I am a lucky man, and I know it, to have such good friends and teachers here at the beginning of my figure work!
Sorry for the elementary questions, but, please tell me what different types of putty you are using to create this great figure? And, are you working from a knowm illustration or one of your own? The figure is so clearly lifelike and the anatomy looks so right. Bravo.
I look forward to seeing more pictures as the figure progresses.
Best regards,
Michael in NYC

Hello Micheal, of course I remember. I still have the plates you sent me. I thought i had shown you a picture. Big apologies if I didn't. I will soon enough. The figure was even featured in an article on Military Modelling. I'm glad your work has taken a turn in theright direction. Yes you are lucky to have Bill and Greg as your tutors. Please say hi to them for me. Maybe i see them in Chicago.
As for the putties, I'm using MS mainly. Now I'm also using brown MS but i mix it with normal MS and sometimes Duro ( like on the schabraque). Other than that I work in my usual manner. The figure is illustrated in an Osprey book but in a totally different pose. I like to come up with the posese myself. Now let me send you some pics of the Highland officer.

Stephen my friend, that's another excellent piece of yours... I really like the Napoleonic stuff that you sculpt.Keep them coming.
