Excellent work, Erik.

This turned out quite nice. I really like the extra little details - lizard, card, cracks in the dry clay earth, etc. Using a LIFE magazine cover as the title plate was very creative, too.

Only observation I have is from when I read the title on the rendition of LIFE magazine. We Americans use "Co." as an abbreviation for Company. Someone who isn't in the US Military may not notice, and it does not take anything away from the excellent vignette, but it is something that I picked up on. I know from working with them that the Brits use "Coy" as their abbreviation for Company as do many other nations. And usually when we spell out the rest of the unit designation, then we would also spell out Company. Just something to keep in mind if you do another project of US forces.

Other than that, your work is outstanding.

Cheers,
James

Hello Erik,

It's no big deal. I really didn't notice it at first as I was more interested in looking at your nicely done figures and the details you put into the Huey and when I did notice it, I knew it was the abbreviation for Company and although it was not the US abbreviation for Company I figured that most people would not notice it or it would match their country's abbreviation for Company. I had shown the pictures of your vignette to my dad (who served as a door gunner during one of his tours in Vietnam - he loved this vignette!) and some of his Vietnam buddies and it wasn't until one of them asked, "What the heck is a 'Coy'?", that I realized that there may be a few people who might notice the non-US abbreviation for Company. Other than the "Coy", they thought the work you put into this was outstanding. And if that was the only thing that guys who had been in and out of Hueys could find as being somewhat out of place, you did an excellent job with your detail work. So basically, you passed the test by US Vietnam Veterans and should be very proud of your work. It has served as an inspiration to me for me to build a vignette with a wedgie of a Huey now that Bravo 6 has come out with their Door Gunner kit as a present for my dad.

Cheers,
James

Thanks James, I geuss I am myself my worst judge....:grumpy:
Nice to know that the vets liked it, makes it more a tribute to those who served and gave all! (y)

Curious how your vignette will look like when ist ready!

Cheers Erik
