Hi everyone,
Finished this lovely little kit from CGS military figures(Gra30),oils over acrylics.
Hope you like.
Cheers

I like that it looks very nice. It lends itself to creating a nice little vignette , ie like a sentry box, some railings, or even a little Corgi dog looking up at him. Very nicely painted Ralph, well done.

Having posted one of these a few month's ago, I would agree that this is a super figure. The SMLE has been beautifully modelled. David Grieve certainly had a feel for the Guards (and British Victorian) soldiers.

A nicely painted and executed figure.

Thanks Mike,Paul and Jon,much appreciated.
For matting I use,Daylor and Rowney Cryla soluble matt varnish for acrylics, but it works great for matting down oils.

Ill have to try that Ralph. I normally use testors flat coat. That works well with oils and acrylics as well
If you do use it make sure you shake it really well and thin with four parts white spirit,I've only ever used it through an airbrush.
Cheers
Ralph.

Beautifully painted Ralph, thank you very much for posting.
Certainly looks like you enjoyed painting him :)
My best wishes

Thanks Graham,much appreciated.
I really enjoyed painting this, one of the better figures I've done for a while(not been shaking so much this week):)

A very nice piece of work. I like the shading on the greatcoat. It can be tough to get a good effect on that expanse of grey but you've managed it very well.
