Ferris
A Fixture
Hi All,
It's been a while since I have completed anything. This is mainly due to having too little time behind the bench, but also because of 'maintenance' on the key tools involved...my eyes. I can now see clearly again and to get into the rythm again I finished a couple of dinosaurs in a diorama that I started more than 15 years ago, gulp!
I repainted the dinosaurs because of now having very different views on colour choices, painting, and weathering. My experience with figures made in the mean time really helped with for example the eyes. They are done in acrylics. Basecoated by airbrush, with detail painting, highlights and shades by brush.
Most of the work was in the groundwork, which I love to do. I had however never done solid water resin casting, so this involved some experimentation, trial and error (and curses). I used a picture from the BBC series Walking with Dinosaurs as an example, and wanted to copy the mirror-flat lake, only disturbed by the dinosaurs making some ripples while drinking.
It feels great to finish something, especially something that has been sleeping on a shelf for so many years.
Not really a figure, but I hope you enjoy them nevertheless!
Cheers,
Adrian
PS: Should have dusted the water before making pictures... :-(
