Hi folks

The journey continues ......

After blocking the colours in , having dinner and going back to the bench , I kept looking where I'd filled where paint layers had cone away .....just did not look good ....

This is too nice a subject to put it away !

So ........much careful removal of Milliput and much sanding to get a smooth surface ........

I rolled out the MS to a very very thin sheet ....let it go off a bit .....

And cut out shaping for front and rear right sides and then infilled the area's ...which you can see as white in the Iffyvision pics

Also redid the buckles at the rear again ......

Total 3 and a half hrs work and much muttering and learning about putty

Much happier with the result now it's fully dried overnight ...slight sanding and then brush prime in black then the base coats

As always any thoughts and comments welcome

Glad to see I'm not the only one Kev who decides to make a radical change when approaching the finishing line  Good to see it coming together again and I'm sure it'll be worth it in the end . . . .

Keep going mate (y)

Should he have gold lace on the cuffs as shown in the illustration of the sergeant?

Mike

Hi Mike

No it was white with a facing colour of dark blue dividing each , the picture of the Sgt is a guards Regt

Just about finished basecoating , about another's hour work gradually working the colour up and I will then basecoat the lacing again in a Reaper colour weathered stone

Still no legs on him ..lol

Kev!....Is that sash wide enough?....:whistle::nailbiting:
Jim

Go away you 'orrible little man..........lol

....it's the same as the previous one ....if you look at the reference of the guards the sash is slightly wider inbetween the 2 buttons pulling in at the belt and the epaulette

Off to paint

Hi Kevin,

It's looking very good.
This has been a bit of a roller coaster ride.
You must be a bit of a glutton for punishment.
Hopefully, this time you're seeing the light at the end of the tunnel instead of the train light coming the other way.

Cheers,
Andrew

P.S. You're moving again?

Hi Andrew

Thanks for comments

Certainly a roller coaster as you say ......I blame Jimbo

It's coming together now starting to get the uniform colour right

Also repainted the main rank badge

There's light at the end of the tunnel !

Thanks for commenting

PS No move trying to scare Jimbo !

Hi Folks

Bit of a verbal update , not been at the bench first couple of days ....

Belt all painted , buckles and buttons all painted , hinted at a anchor on the buttons

Next will be to recheck the uniform highs possibly

But .....it's getting there ...fleshwork will be next main thing along with the hands and the swagger stick ....

Then the hair and ......it will be done ...onto another project ...one or two to choose from !
