Those are some beautiful scenes Paul, as figures of course. I love the one of the bar fight starting and comrades of the combatants trying to break it up. You can almost hear the "let me at 'im!!!!" In French of course.

Knife fights in the bar... ahhh youth :rolleyes:

I thought such a scenario was standard behaviour, come 'Lunchtime', in Canada,.... Then back to work, and normality but carrying extra wounds and bruising! .. Although this maybe centred around the 'Quebec' regions! However, I could be wrong!:LOL:

You're not wrong about the riotous Quebecers. I've spent time working in the wilds of Northern Quebec and did more than a little time partying on St. Catherine's Street in Montreal... things can get silly there... "Drink, Fight and Fornicate". The Holy Trinity. Of course, you try to squeeze a hockey game in there as well.:sneaky:

Of course we in Ontario, while participating in the above activities, try to do so with a modicom of calm civility. Sadly, it doesn't always turn out so well :blackeye:

I've listed my most wanted on another thread, but my preferences are: Stormtroopers bust of a British Hussar Officer, circa 1820; Household cavalry at Tel-el-Kebir, 17th Lancer Zululand 1879, Hadendowah warrior Sudan 1890's, Indian soldier in Mesopotamia 1915.
 
The Samurai pic shows a christian samurai of the mid to late 16th Century. The ruff is adopted from early contact with Europeans. He is what the young samurai considered to be "cool"at the time. A"chick magnet"!
 
It's from the pre-raphaelite british painter Frederick Mielet.
As such, and being of the victorian period the ladie's
hair and dress mirror that fashion not the earlier period required.
That said, I bet if adapted a wee bit it woulld be superb.
Sometimes Just Do it is actually the right thing to do.
I would 'Recreate the painting rather than the ball'
It's all good I reckon.
