Hi Guys ,

I agree with Adrian primarily but the other members have a valid point ...Figure news ..... it's good to have a comment ,if it should go off thread then that's for the Mods to look at and act accordingly in the best possible way they feel.....often thanklessly!

Hi

I think it would be fair to say that manufacturers spend a lot of time, money, and effort. In all the stages of producing a figure from the initial idea to the product you see
on the shelves. It would not be in their best interest to do otherwise.

In my view they have two options :-

1, Having produced the figure they advertise it in Figure News and run the gauntlet of this is too big, that’s not right, they never wore that, etc etc . We have all seen it.

2, Advertise the fact in WIP that a particular figure is on the workbench, This opens the idea up to other manufacturers to copy your idea, takes away the wow factor when released, and most of all opens a can of worms when every tom dick and harry as an opinion on what it should wear how it should stand what it should or should not carry, the list goes on.

Either way they can be on a hiding to nothing. It should be remembered at the end of the day the final say on the matter is the manufacturer. We as forum members who make a comment on any thread should recognise when enough is enough. Because if we can’t the thread goes off track and into handbags at dawn. He who shouts loudest won’t win.

Interesting.

I reviewed a new figure a while ago. I am never ever going to do that again.

I could tell the manufacturer was reading and weighing every single word I wrote over my shoulder. I could feel his breath in my neck so to speak. I did not feel free to say what I really thought at all.

He kept reminding everybody how important reviews (needless to say GOOD ones) were for his emerging company. Somehow I felt I was given no margin of error.

Every comment in that review made by other members was almost immediately followed by a counter comment (mostly a 'thank you') by the manufacturer.

If I had felt the figures feet looked like sh.t I would not have had the liberty to say so.

Living is learning everyday.
