A bit more work done on this figure- started blocking in the coat with enamels just to get a contest against the white of the tunic (never seem to be completely happy with my take on white). Would love to know if anyone could assist with a definitive as to what colour the piping/ending on the collar should be. I initially assumed white but saw the drawing by Patrice Courcelle on which this figure may be loosely based and his seemed to have the blue. Hoping to get going on the flag shortly.

In a nutshell ..usually the collar piping is white, Patrice's illustration is of the 45em Ligne, not the 19em Regt

There were many slight variations on the 1812 regulation uniform such that two officers may have different embroidery around the top of the shako and on the sword belts.
Even from just a few yards away the differences would go practically un-noticed.

I like the base colour for the coat too by the way.

Lookng forward to your progress with this, I have one myself
In my stock of projects.

Thanks for the info Paul. I may revisit the collar piping. Managed to get some oils on the greatcoat yesterday and the sword belt and just the sword and groundwork to go.

You really must please yourself on this, there were so many minor differences because of privately made uniforms by officers, it just doesn't matter a jot.

Paul.
