Very nice Steve the tiredness really shows on the German not sure if you have but speaking from experience I'd blood shot these eyes some as well, appreciate it's a pig to get that right though. Tommy gun looks great really liking the grain effect
Steve

Thx Steve,

I was going to add a very thinned layer into the eyes to get a bit more red, but not much. It is a pain in the ars to keep from boofin the whole thing, you are spot on about that.

Thx for watchin. Cheers, Ski.

Ok, at the risk of seeming redundant I am posting pics of the trousers after highlights and Dull Coat.

After the initial oil drying, 4-5 days, I went back and added some highlights yesterday. Feathering in oils is pretty easy if you have several broad damp brushes and thinned oils, almost watery, very transparent. This is where oils can be like acrylics, NOT, lol. I threw that in there for our acrylic compadres.

Some of the shadows are still too much in depth, so there is more to do, but light feathering will work this out over time. I usually take a few days to do this process, look it over, then adjust where needed to keep from getting carried away. Have another figure on stand-by to keep the ball rolling.

Hope yall like the outcome so far and holler if you see anything I may have missed.

Next up is the leggings and boots. Thx for watchin. Cheers, Ski.

An update long overdue.

Well, after realizing I didn't take any SBS pics because I was "too dang excited" to get the bunker powered up, (way before the snow fly, mind you)(so, don't tell my wife, she hasn't balked yet) I gots some pics of where we are now.

I'm pretty stoked about this particular figure from ReeDee's Miniatures. sites.google.com/site/reedeesminiatures/

It's incredibly well sculpted as expected from Steve; he's never disappointed me in his talent to make resin look so real in every fold of a uniform right down to the veins on the hands, incredible work!!! I'm gonna have to learn this discipline some day, retirement is lookin better all the time, HA!

Here's what started the whole shebang in the expansion of this monster dio, size wise. I realized upon delivery that one of the legs would have to be altered to touch the ground, read major alteration here, which I would actually have to cut into the "hip" and destroy in the process all that incredible work in an attempt to reduplicate the incredible uniform work done by Steve. Now, I'm not one to bash or crash on another's incredible work unless I have to, especially when I know deep at heart I can't do it, so I decided the best thing to do was to acquire a sidecar and call it good.

Steve knew of my dilemma and graciously provided another helmet and set of boots to make my weak skills look impressive. Ya Brother Stevo, you Ruck On Bro!

Yehaaaaa, my alterations have come out somewhat acceptable and I recon we're gonna roll from here. So, this is where we are at today. What follows are a few pics of what I did remember to click in my up coming winter excitement. Yall can get a good idea where it’s headed from here. We are at full power up on the bunker and sniffin paint and gluin them fingers together has never felt better!

All comments and suggestions are welcome as you please and thx for watchin.

Cheers, Ski.

I'll add SBS pics as I go from here on out and keep er rollin, especially since the snow fly is not far off the horizon.

Ski lovely job on the conversions for the figure, looks good with his full trousers and marching boots on, looking forward to seeing him painted up.
Bike looks nice especially the engine, the side car should be with you soon mate hopefully, let me know when it lands (y)

Steve

Will do Stevo and thx many muchos. Ya, I'm getting excited about painting this one! I'll give you a holler when the sidecar arrives ;)

Steve/Helm, Thx buddy and yes, this is gonna be a biggin. It's evolving, let's just say work in progress. I'm a wood butcher by trade, so a new curio cabinet is not out of the realm of possibilities, lol. I just gotta figure where it would be placed in the hacienda, or where Mrs. Ski would let me place it.

Thx Guys. Cheers, Ski.

Quick update;

This sidecar build was pretty easy considering it was already built by Steve from ReeDee's Miniatures. I had a little clean up, but it's exactly the same as the one that arrived in the full kit. More work to do, but we are forging on.

Thanks Stevo, it worked out just fine! Cheers, Ski.

Thx for watchin.

Talk about biting off more than you can chew, or eating crow, ya buddy! I ain't ready to pass off the salt just yet, this is gonna be a biggin and I'll munch a few birds to make this one happen, period!

I did an initial layout configuration just to see what I was dealing with and found it will pretty much take up the entire photo bench, Yikes!

Oh boy, gotta think this one thru thoroughly. Not that it can't be done, mind you, it can. I really need to study the dimensions and plan the structures carefully to bring out the figures and bikes, along with the veggies, of course. So, this is what we have so far, comments if you please, and don't be shy and thanks for watchin.

Cheers, Ski.

Don't be fooled, these are 200mm figs and bikes.

A slight departure from "Easy Pickins", but well worth the trip.

A good mate, "Skipper" of our boat unit, to be exact, is retiring at the end of the month. So, one of the mates decided to have a "Boat Unit" T-shirt for everyone to sign, mounted in a framed box. Well. bein the paint sniffin, finger gluer that I be, arr matey, I thought it not be right to neglect the fare winds about the seas of a true sailor and a great mate, arr, to be sure!

So, Sheppepie has made the arrangements for the shadow box, shirt and all, and I will fill in the bottom with the appropriate accoutrements of a well weathered and good sea fearin mate, arr, to be sure. Below is what will be fastened to the bottom of the shadow box below the T-shirt, with sea shells and sand to be sure, arrrrrrrrrrr, lol. Ya, I know, a bit heavy on the sea farin, but personally, I'm a land lobber, HA! Enjoy!

Cheers, Ski.

P.S. Obviously the red rope will soon be white and a bit tighter than the layout, gotta be as real as possible.
