No, john, you can do nothing. the casting is just for the resting the tendon for his healing. I am now on experimenting with 60 patients with AT rupture in a custom made brace. I have done now 24 patients and it is going extremely good. It seems a breaktrough. But unfortunally not in the UK, to conservative

Hi Marc, Thanks for the info. The cast was changed today and they could not get the foot to the full neutral position. I also tried to move my foot and it would not move, a very strange feeling or lack of it. I am in about a position of just over halfway, does that make sense?. Three weeks in the new cast and then three weeks at full neutral.

I was very surprised that you were treating so many patients, is it very common injury?. I was starting to think that it was only me who stupid enough to do this to themselves!!!. You a very brave offering to push me I not a small one.

Hello John,

It is normal when you get a foot out of 90 that he wouldn't go into 90.
I always pushed very hard (patient is almost shooting with a gun at me ) so i get it in the right angl. If it is not possible to correct in 90 you gotta do it in two or three steps. But i gotta push. We would do it in two weeks for the 90, the sooner the better. But as i said before we are now making braces.
John it is a verry common injury. No you are not stupid but you have bad luck in this.
And remember, when the doc tells you, you are healthy, this guarantee goes to the door of the hospital. :lol: :lol:

Many years ago I spent 8 years in a wheelchair while going thru extensive physical therapy. I hated the physical therapist with a passion because of what he put me through at the time.......looking back............it was his therapy that got me eventually back out of the wheelchair.

I feel with you. I know when i push it is for the patient best will. We all know that, but the results pay off a long time after you have had the pain.
