Hi,

It has been some time since my last post, some other projects have kept me away from miniatures but today I am back with my "project in between projects".

I wanted to try sculpting/modelling and the pictures you can find here are where I am so far. The idea is to do a 1/6 scale head to mount on an articulated body, cast the head in resin and continue sculpting the master towards a bust. I could have chosen something easier to start with, I know... but I am a wee bit crazy.

Now I was thinking about buying the rubber for the mold, resin and vaseline or release medium. Since I am a newby I would like to know if there are any specific brands or retailers you would recommend.

Also any advice concerning the piece itself would be much appreciated. I have tried to portray musician Nick Cave, one of my favourite musicians and artists. I have used Milliput, Green Stuff and some other epoxy dad had at home... it could be Magic Sculpt (no package available), sometimes by themselves, sometimes mixed. Sorry that the pictures are not the best quality, I took them quickly with the phone. Let me know what you think about it.

Cheers,

Jaime

Thanks for the comments and pieces of advice.

Offo, I think you are right. Sometimes after hours working on something I lose the focus and I stop seeing the flaws. It happened with the eyebrows yesterday, I showed the piece to my father and he went "aren´t the eyebrows a bit too thick"... They were "werewolf thick" and I had not noticed XD

Cheers!
