Firstever figure

Hi
I'm completely new to figure painting!
Having looked at a few figures I decided on the Young minature's SS Panzer officer bust. I'm thinking it will give me more area to work on than a 54mm fig. I have decided on acrylics so my question is where do you start with painting the figure? Someone once told me to start with the eyes than work out from there!
Any advice would be welcome.

I think most people tend to work inside out. I generally start with the eyes, that way it's easier to correct the shape of them with your flesh colour. I also tend to paint from the head down, that way your not handling the areas you've painted.
